AI assistants recommend businesses they can find, understand and trust. In practice that means: a complete, accurate Google Business Profile; consistent listings on the directories AI cites for your category (Yelp, BBB, Angi and similar); a steady flow of recent, detailed reviews; and a page on your website that plainly answers "best [service] in [city]" with your services, prices, service area and proof. Our report shows which of these you're missing and gives you the fixes.
The most common reasons are thin or inconsistent listings, few recent reviews compared with competitors, a website that doesn't clearly say what you do and where, and robots.txt rules that block AI crawlers. The free check shows whether you appear and who appears instead.
There is no form to submit a business into ChatGPT's answers. Assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI features build answers from the web, maps and review data, so you get included by strengthening those sources.
You can't buy a place in an AI assistant's organic answer. Where AI products show advertising, it is labeled separately from the recommendations. We don't sell placement — we show you what to fix so AI has good reasons to name you.
It's a 0–100 score of how often and how prominently AI assistants name your business when customers ask questions like "best plumber in Austin". It combines how often you're named, your position in the answer, and what AI says about you when asked directly (engine coverage is added as more engines launch).
Today we check Google Gemini, using Google's official Gemini API with Google Search grounding and your city in each question. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Mode are coming soon; we'll list each one here when it is live. Results can differ from what a signed-in person sees in the app, so we ask each question several times and report the pattern.
It varies by engine and category. Listing and profile fixes can be picked up in weeks; reviews and website content take longer to build. We can't promise a timeline, which is why the monthly plan re-checks and shows you the trend.
It overlaps. The fundamentals — accurate listings, reviews, clear website content — help both. The difference is the measurement: instead of Google rankings, we measure whether AI assistants actually name you.
No. Nobody controls AI answers, and anyone who guarantees placement is guessing. What we stand behind is the report's accuracy: if something in it is wrong (for example the wrong business or broken data), we fix it with a free re-run or a free report.
Reports are non-refundable because the AI checks run as soon as you order. If something in your report is wrong, such as the wrong business or broken data, tell us and we'll fix it with a free re-run or a free report. Monitoring can be canceled anytime; billing stops at the end of the current period. Full terms.
No. We're independent. Product names are trademarks of their owners.
The AI checks for your report run as soon as you order, and they cost us money to run, so one-time reports and Fix Kits can't be refunded.
If your report has a real problem, for example it checked the wrong business, has your details wrong, or the data is broken or missing, email hello@howtogetrecommendedbyai.com. We'll fix it with a free re-run or a free report.
You can cancel Monitor or agency plans at any time. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and billing stops then. No cancellation fees, no partial-period refunds.
AI answers change and nobody controls them. We don't guarantee that any AI assistant will recommend you, or by when. The report shows what AI assistants said when we checked and what we think you should fix.
